Who we are

Senior Smartphone Squad is a program operated by Tiffany Bellah ("we," "us," or "our"). We teach older adults how to use their smartphones with confidence. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do — and do not do — with it. It applies to seniorsmartphonesquad.org and to our text messaging program.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to teach a class, answer a question, or send you the messages you asked for.

• Contact information you give us. Your name, mobile phone number, and email address when you sign up for a class, a newsletter, or our text messaging program.
• Messages you send us. The content of text messages, emails, and form submissions you send, so we can respond.
• Basic website data. Standard server and analytics information such as pages visited, browser type, and approximate region. This is used to understand which resources are helpful.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 years of age.

How we use your information

• To send the text messages you consented to receive.
• To respond to your questions and provide support.
• To register you for classes and send reminders about them.
• To improve our lessons, materials, and website.
• To meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.

Text messaging program

How you join

You join our text messaging program only by opting in yourself — by submitting your mobile number through a sign-up form on this website, by texting a keyword to our number, or by giving us written or verbal consent in person at one of our classes. We never add a number to the program without that consent.

How your number is handled

Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS purposes are not shared, sold, or transferred to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the licensed messaging providers required to transmit the messages themselves, and those providers are prohibited from using your number for their own purposes.

How you leave

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further messages. Reply HELP for help, or contact us using the details below.

Cost and delivery

Message and data rates may apply. Message delivery depends on your mobile carrier and is not guaranteed.

Who else sees your information

We share information only with service providers who help us operate — for example, our text messaging provider, email provider, class registration tools, and website host. They may use your information only to perform services for us.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of our participants, staff, or volunteers.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own direct marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you participate in our programs and for a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping. Opt-out requests are retained so we can honor them. You may ask us to delete your information at any time.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

• Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving them.
• Use the unsubscribe link in any email to stop receiving email.
• Contact us to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you.
